Reshaping the Rideshare Industry, One Driver at a Time

According to Zippia, 36% of Americans have now used a ridesharing app, more than double that of the percentage who used them less than a decade below. Now more than ever, rideshare services and options are needed.

Given this demand, our new ride-hailing service, HUM, offers benefits that stand out against more established and more familiar providers. We believe that a rideshare company should embody a “user-centric” platform catered to benefit both drivers and riders. 

My father and I developed HUM with the drivers in mind, a population that is estimated at more than 1.7 million around the nation. Drivers on the HUM platform are business owners and stakeholders, paying through a novel subscription model which allows them to keep 100% of their fares. Drivers and riders both reap the benefits, as passengers encounter no surge pricing and happier drivers, embodying a rideshare experience that is truly unique. 

HUM was created with the idea that the rideshare industry can, and should, do better. Our expansion into Phoenix is not just about offering another rideshare option, but about reimagining the way the industry operates, placing drivers at the very core of our business, valuing their freedom, and championing the principles of transparency and safety. 

Our vision for HUM started from a passion for wanting to improve the passenger experience. But as drivers became confronted with rising take rates at other rideshare competitors, our emphasis shifted. From there, we modeled the company around creating happy drivers and a positive ride-hailing environment. 

Recently, HUM Rideshare was named one of Phoenix’s ten most innovative startup companies in 2024. It’s a designation we don’t take lightly. We know that being innovative means constantly listening to our drivers and riders to understand what makes the HUM experience special. 

HUM provides fare breakdowns, feedback mechanisms and advanced safety measures, committing to trust and security among our drivers and riders. In-app services include thorough background checks, Woman2Woman dispatch services and rigorous driver training. 

In February of 2023, we launched our app in the metro areas around the Valley. Interested drivers can get started by downloading the “HUM Rideshare” app and beginning the enrollment program. Once downloaded, riders can request rides directly from the app once they input their credit card information.
